Who is the Homestead Ranger

Joshua Morris has a Masters in Geo-Engineering from Missouri S&T and taught Environmental Science at Drury University for seven years, including a class on Sustainable Living at his own Homestead and Farm. Joshua is also an expert in Societal Collapse and the Demise of Civilizations with a Bachelor’s, Summa Cum Laude, in History and Anthropology from Columbus State University.

 In the United States Army, Joshua served in the 1st Ranger Battalion, as a Ranger Instructor, an Infantry Officer and Company Commander, and finally as an officer in the Engineer Corps. Highlights of his career include parachuting into Iraq in March of 2003, graduating Ranger School, Sniper School, Pathfinder School, and Jumpmaster School. He is an expert in survival, marksmanship, off-grid construction, and engineering to include renewable and sustainable building techniques. 

He currently owns and manages Cold Spring Farm, LLC, a renewable-powered and self-sufficient homestead, and renowned livestock operation in the Heart of the Ozark Mountains. He has been recognized twice by the Farmer Veteran Coalition for his military record and subsequent success as a farmer, receiving the Fellowship Award in 2022 and the Kubota Geared to Give program award in 2023. He was also chosen as a guest speaker for the Farmer Veteran Stakeholder Conference in Washington, D.C., in 2023, gave a TEDx talk about the Homestead of the Future at Missouri S&T TEDx in 2019, and was the guest speaker for the Midwest Grazing Conference in 2019, where he showcased his farm’s restored “Native Warm Season Grass Prairie.” 

Today, Joshua continues to grow his farm, which has raised profits year over year since its inception, and he continues to raise awareness about self-reliance and sustainability in order help individuals deal with turbulent times and be prepared to “Thrive in the Coming Dark Age.”
